Obama's Michigan visit to highlight auto recovery

DETROIT, Jan. 4, 2015 (AP): President Barack Obama plans to head for Michigan on Wednesday, three days after he and his family returned to Washington DC from their vacation in Hawaii.

The White House says that Obama's visits to Michigan, Arizona, and Tennessee this week aim at highlighting how his economic policies aid US-America's recovery.

The administration says Obama will cite the return of manufacturing jobs and his decision to bail out the auto industry during his visit to the Detroit area. In Phoenix the next day, he'll showcase gains in the housing sector since the real estate crash and lay out new steps to help US-Americans buy homes.

On Friday, Vice President Joe Biden will join Obama in Tennessee to discuss new ways to help more people attend college or job-training.
