Ready, Set, Slide! Toledo Zoo Presents Walleye Night on Dec. 1
From 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014 coast down the Zoo’s new outdoor ice slide with your favorite Toledo Walleye hockey players! It’s a remarkable opportunity that blends two top-notch Toledo attractions: the Toledo Walleye and the Toledo Zoo.

In addition to the ice slide fun, Walleye players will be available for photos, autographs and meet-and-greets near the slide, which was custom-built over the natural slope of the Zoo’s historic Amphitheatre. Surrounding the slide is the new winter village, free with regular Lights admission and featuring bonfires, ice carving and live reindeer. Both the ice slide and winter village are sponsored by Taylor Automotive Family.
It’s all part of this year’s Lights Before Christmas, the “electrical spectacle” presented by KeyBank. Featuring over a million lights, 200+ illuminated animal images and sparkling festivities all across the Zoo, the Lights open at 3 p.m. daily; closing hours vary. The Lights are closed only on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve night, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. This year, the Lights shine through Jan. 4, 2015, coinciding with Toledo Walleye Winterfest festivities which run from Dec. 26, 2014 through Jan. 4, 2015.
Toledo Zoo members get unlimited free Monday-Thursday Lights visits this year, plus one free weekend visit. Visitors save $1 per ticket by ordering online at toledozoo.org/lights.
