Commission on Hispanic-Latino Affairs reappoints José Feliciano Jr.

Columbus, Oct. 29, 2014: José Feliciano, Jr. of Aurora (Portage County) has been reappointed to the Ohio Commission on Hispanic-Latino Affairs (OCHLA) for a three year term beginning October 20, 2014.

OCHLA was created in 1977 to advise the Governor, the Ohio General Assembly, and the state government agencies on all matters affecting Hispanic Ohioans.  In addition, OCHLA connects the diverse Latino communities across the State of Ohio by serving as a hub of information for Hispanic Ohioans, and builds capacity of Latino community organizations.

José Feliciano, Jr. is employed as a business analyst for the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) and serves on a committee at GCRTA assisting in the recruitment of a diverse workforce.

According to Feliciano Jr., he is motivated by the words of the late Roberto Clemente: “Any time you have an opportunity to make a difference in this world and you don’t, then you are wasting your time on earth.”

Mr. Feliciano, Jr. is an active member of the Latino community. He first became a Commissioner of OCHLA (Ohio Commission of Hispanic and Latino Affairs) last fall and earlier this year was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Hispanic Roundtable.

Among his many contributions to the Latino community, Mr. Feliciano, Jr. has served two terms as President of Young Latino Network (YLN), is a member of National Society of Hispanic MBA’s (NSHMBA), and was a community partner for Convención Hispana 2013.

Mr. Feliciano is the son of attorney José Feliciano Sr.
