AVISO/NOTICE: Homeless or financially-struggling residents in Wood County can receive a variety of free services, including dental care, winter clothing, health screenings and employment assistance from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 315 S. College Drive, Bowling Green.
Wood County’s Project Homeless Connect is a one-day, one-stop event with free goods and services for Wood County families, elders, veterans and singles, said Anamaria Portillo, United Way 2-1-1 Information & Referral Specialist with United Way of Greater Toledo.
Other free services available during the event include, free hot meals, haircuts, mental health and substance abuse services and a place to shower.
The event is made possible through a collaboration of agencies, individuals, churches, organizations and businesses. Agencies that will be present at the event, including Wood County Job and Family Services, Wood County Health District, WSOS and Wood County Area Ministries.
