Funding for Tri-C announced

State Rep. Nicholas J. Celebrezze (D-Parma) has announced the approval of state funding in the amount of $145,900 for the purchase and installation of audio visual equipment for the Crile Building located on the Western Campus of Cuyahoga Community College.

“Tri-C is making great strides to ensure a quality learning environment for all students,” said Rep. Celebrezze. “Northeast Ohio’s future firefighters and police officers will be training in the Crile Building, so it is imperative that the facility can adequately prepare them for real-life situations. After all, soon these brave men and women will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of our communities.”

The Crile Building is being renovated to accommodate police and fire cadets who will be undergoing intense training. Audio visual equipment will be installed in many of the newly renovated areas of the building. Upon its completion, the building will house a new ten-lane Firing Range, a gym, eight classrooms and two simulator rooms to be used for driving and shooting.

Cuyahoga Community College used a competitive bidding process to purchase the needed equipment. Funding for this project was released by the Ohio Controlling Board, which provides oversight and final approval for state expenditures.
