LCCC to undergo $1.5M renovation

State Rep. Matt Lundy (D-Elyria) has announced the approval of state funding in the amount of $1,581,625 to renovate the Physical Science Building located on Lorain County Community College (LCCC) campus. A main facet of the project includes the creation of a Math Studio, which will provide space for both group and individualized tutoring to occur.

LCCC has stated that 48 percent of tutoring on campus is in the area of math. The college acknowledges that space and place are paramount to improving student success.

In addition to the creation of a Math Studio, the old Physics area of the building is being renovated to become four classrooms. Other funding will go to support the design, engineering, technology and refreshing of other classrooms within the building. The majority of the project – including the creation of the Math Studio and renovation of classrooms – is expected to be completed by spring of 2015.
