Library’s OPEN BOOK program presents Tobias S. Buckell (July 9) and Lydia Netzer (July 23)

The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is hosting its Open Book program in July featuring two fascinating authors - Tobias S. Buckell is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9 at Sanger Branch Library, 3030 W. Central Ave., and Lydia Netzer is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23 in the Huntington Room of Main Library, 325 Michigan St.

Each Open Book FREE program features a book discussion, Q & A session and a book signing.

July 9 @ Sanger Branch:  Born in the Caribbean, Tobias S. Buckell (Arctic Rising, Halo: The Cole Protocol) is a New York Times Bestselling science fiction author. His novels and over 50 stories have been translated into 17 languages. Buckell has been nominated for the Hugo, Nebula, and John W. Campbell Award for Best New Science Fiction Author. He currently lives in Ohio. In his latest book Hurricane Fever, Buckell has crafted a kinetic tech-no-thriller perfect for fans of action-packed espionage within a smartly drawn geo-political landscape. The lead character Roo has been described as an anti-James Bond for a new generation. 


July 23 @ Main Library:  Born in Detroit and a Bowling Green State University graduate, Lydia Netzer is the author of Shine Shine Shine, a New York Times Notable Book, a Target Book Club Pick, and a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. Netzer currently resides in Virginia with her two home-schooled children and husband, her Boston terriers and her Morgan horse. In her latest book How to Tell Toledo from the Night Sky, dreamy cosmologist George Dermont mines the stars to prove the existence of God from the Toledo Institute of Astronomy, the nation’s premier center of astronomical discovery and a beacon of scientific learning.
