STORY TIMES
: Have a storybook summer at Lorain Public Library System’s Main Library.  Children will have fun with stories, music and more at story times.  Toddler Story Time, for 2 through 5-year-olds with a caregiver, is Mondays at 10:30 a.m.  Sittin’ and Scootin’ story time for babies from birth to 23 months old is Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.  Preschool Story Time, for 3 through 5-year-olds, is Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.  Preregistration is required and is available online at LorainPublicLibrary.org or by calling the Main Library at 440-244-1192 or 1-800-322-READ, ext. 449.  The Main Library is located at 351 W. EXPLORERS: Your search for an awesome summer program stops here – at the Lorain Public Library System Main Library’s Explorers program.  The program is every Monday at 2 p.m. from June 16 through July 28.  Kids in first through fifth grades will explore something new each week with stories, music, crafts and guest speakers.  Preregistration is required and is available online at LorainPublicLibrary.org or by calling the Main Library at 440-244-1192 or 1-800-322-READ, ext. 449.  The Main Library is located at 351 W. STORY TIME AT THE BEACH!: Lorain Public Library System’s Main Library is hosting story times at Lakeview Park beach!  Grab your beach towel and enjoy this special outdoor story time on Tuesday, June 17 at 1 p.m. at 1800 W. TEEN DRAMA CLUB: Teens, join drama club this summer at Lorain Public Library System’s Main Library.  Sixth through 12th-graders are welcome to rehearse and eventually perform a dramatic presentation for younger kids.  Rehearsal dates are Tuesdays, June 17, June 24, July 1, July 8 and July 15 from 1-3 p.m., and Saturday, July 19 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.  The performance dates are Wednesday, July 23 at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, July 30 at 10:30 a.m.  Preregistration is required and is available online at LorainPublicLibrary.org or by calling the Main Library at 440-244-1192 or 1-800-322-READ, ext. 449.  The Main Library is located at 351 W. LEGO® NIGHT: Build something great at Lorain Public Library System’s Main Library at LEGO® Night, Wednesday, June 18 at 6:30 p.m.  The library will provide the LEGO®s and you supply the ideas and creations.  All ages welcome.  Preregistration is required and is available online at LorainPublicLibrary.org or by calling the Main Library at 440-244-1192 or 1-800-322-READ, ext. 449.  The Main Library is located at 351 W. LORAIN TORNADO HISTORY PROGRAM: Commemorate the 90th anniversary of the famous Lorain-Sandusky Tornado with Lorain Public Library System’s Main Library.  Attend a special program on Saturday, June 21 at 2 p.m. at the Lorain Palace Theatre, 617 Broadway Ave., Lorain.  Channel 19 meteorologist Jon Loufman is the featured guest speaker.  The documentary One Saturday Afternoon will be shown on the Palace’s big screen.  View numerous photos and speak with representatives from the Lorain Historical Society, who is cosponsoring this program, at the spectacular afternoon event.  Preregistration is required and is available online at LorainPublicLibrary.org or by calling the Main Library at 440-244-1192 or 1-800-322-READ, ext. 450.

FREE ONLINE COURSES: Lorain Public Library System (LPLS) is now offering free online courses to LPLS cardholders.  Find Gale Courses in the eLibrary on LorainPublicLibrary.org.  These instructor-led classes are great for both professional and personal enrichment.  There are even relevant courses for those who are on summer break from school.  Try it out today.  Courses are available for accounting and finance, business, computer applications, design and composition, health care and medical, language and arts, law and legal, personal development, teaching and education, technology, writing and publishing.
