Father’s Day Fun at the Toledo Zoo
The Toledo Zoo has been creating great family memories for generations, so it makes sense to spend Sunday, June 15, 2014 — Father’s Day — making a few new memories at the #1 zoo in the United States. And with free admission for dads whose kids bring them to the Zoo, there’s even more reason to make the Toledo Zoo your family’s destination.

The main plaza will have fun, dad-friendly games and activities, free with regular Zoo admission. Plus, you can treat Dad to a special BBQ lunch in the Nairobi Pavilion for a separate fee (Toledo Zoo members get discounts). Seating times for the BBQ lunch are 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. This lunch fills up fast, so call 419.385.5721 extension 6001, to reserve your space. Walk-ins will be admitted only if space is available; visit toledozoo.org/fathersday for more information.
While you’re at the Zoo with Dad, be sure to check out the all-new Flamingo Key, Penguin Beach, and ‘Keet Retreat, which opened May 23. Flamingo Key, sponsored by Toledo Express Airport, shows off the “avian supermodels” back at the Zoo for the first time in decades.
Near the historic Aquarium, Penguin Beach leads you right through the penguins’ exhibit, along with daily keeper-led penguin feeds sponsored by ProMedica. Just a couple minutes away, ‘Keet Retreat, sponsored by BP, offers a fun new walk-through encounter with these bright, friendly little birds.
