Red, White, KABOOM, expected to be a Blast!

The Blade’s Red, White, KABOOM, presented by Taylor Automotive Group and Humana, will ignite the sky for Independence Day.  The booming weekend will begin in Promenade Park in downtown Toledo on the riverfront at 6 p.m., Friday, July 4, 2014.  Admission is free.

Entertainment, music, food, and beverages will be available at Promenade Park.  International Park will be geared towards hosting a family-friendly atmosphere this year. “We expect a fantastic show and a great turn-out,” said Event Director Michael Mori.  “The annual fire-over-the-river tradition has only grown in popularity year-after-year.”

The Blade’s Red, White, KABOOM will offer traditional Americana food leading up to the fireworks show, which will be synchronized to music on radio station WXKR 94.5. World-renowned fireworks company Pyrotecnico will start the spectacle around 10 p.m.

Soft drinks, food, and Budweiser beer will be available for sale in Promenade Park. A performance by the sound of Toledo soul, The Jamm Band featuring Bruce Sims (national recording artist), will begin around 7 p.m., finishing before the 10 p.m. fireworks show. The event will benefit the Imagination Station.

“Many thanks to our major sponsors, Taylor Automotive Group and Humana, and especially a big thanks to City of Toledo for their support,” said Mr. Mori. “It is because of their generosity that we are able to continue to bring this great event to Toledo year after year.”

No outside food, beverages, backpacks, coolers, tents, canopies, bikes, skateboards, skates, or pets will be allowed inside the park during the event.
