Reading Record: Beginning Monday, June 9, 2014, children and teens can visit any Lorain Public Library System library or the Bookmobile and pick up a reading record. They can also print their own reading record online by visiting LorainPublicLibrary.org.
Adults do not need to fill out a reading record as their program is run differently.
Prizes
Participants, birth through 12th grade, will earn a free book for every four hours of reading from June 9 through Aug. 9. Win up to five books! Reading and being read to both qualify.
Plus for every four hours read, children and teens can enter a grand prize drawing to win a yearlong family membership to the Great Lakes Science Center, a nabi tablet or a Google Nexus tablet.
All adults will be reading and competing for a Kindle! For each book read, adults will have a slip entered into the system-wide drawing for the grand prize.
Each library will offer other prizes for their adult patrons. Stop in and see what your library has to offer.
Finale Events: Children and teens, bring your reading record to attend a spectacular science program by Mad Science of Northeast Ohio or one of the special teen finale celebrations! Find details on the online calendar at LorainPublicLibrary.org.
