Fun takes flight at Toledo Zoo’s Summer Safari Camps

Fly into summer fun with the Toledo Zoo’s Summer Safari Camps, starting in June, 2014. These affordably priced day camps offer campers, ages 4 to 14, an experience unlike anything else available in the area.

Themes stretch from penguins and polar bears to dinosaurs and fishing expeditions. Older kids (ages 11-14) can spend time working as Junior Zookeepers in Nature’s Neighborhood, the award-winning children’s zoo, or they can become Junior Field Researchers and venture out with Zoo staff for hands-on conservation projects throughout the region.

The fun isn’t just for the kids, though. Family Snoozes invite families to camp overnight at the Zoo with children (ages 5 and older). This fast-paced overnight experience includes animal interaction, keeper talks, exclusive tours, meals and more. Sleeping accommodations vary from sleeping in the Forest Room of Nature’s Neighborhood to camping in tents on Zoo grounds. Each Snooze has a theme that directs the animal interactions, tours and more.

For more information about Summer Safari Camps or Zoo Snoozes, visit toledozoo.org.

Get a preview of your summer fun May 23-25, when the all-new Penguin Beach opens. You’ll get closer than ever to the penguins with dynamic underwater viewing and a path that leads you right through the exhibit.
