City of Toledo sponsored Youth Job Fair this Saturday, May 3rd
Pre-registration IS required to participate
Each year, teens hope to find summer employment to develop their business skills, find positive outlets for their creativity and energy, and begin building a résumé that will help prepare them for adulthood. Local civic and business leaders are coming together to ask the business community for support in this endeavor.
In 2013, over 2,000 young people attended the summer job fair and met potential employers, learned about summer job opportunities, and applied for openings with local business owners.
The 2014 Summer Teen Job Fair will be held from 10am – 2 pm on Saturday May 3, 2014, at the SeaGate Centre. Businesses interested in participating are asked to call the City of Toledo Youth Commission at 419-245-1417 for more information. Employers who are not able to offer jobs are asked to consider internship, volunteer opportunities, or donations to the Youth Commission to assist with programming for Toledo Youth.
There is no cost for young people to attend the Summer Youth Job Fair and pre-registration is required through eventbrite.com before 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014. Teens are encouraged to dress professionally while meeting with job employers and in follow-up interviews. The summer Youth Job Fair is open for youth ages 16-21 years old.
