Oswald Supporting Organization of the Toledo Community Foundation awards grants totaling $102,220 to eight nonprofit organizations

 

April 28, 2014: The Oswald Supporting Organization of the Toledo Community Foundation recently awarded grants totaling $102,220 to eight nonprofit organizations:

 

  • Ability Center of Greater Toledo – a grant of $4,920 was awarded to support the Destination Friendship program.

 

  • EqualityToledo, Inc. – a grant of $15,300 was awarded to support the Safe Schools – Anti-Bullying Program.

 

  • Feed Lucas County Children, Inc. – a grant of $20,000 was awarded to support the afterschool and summer food program.

 

  • Toledo Bikes, Inc. – a grant of $2,000 was awarded to the Build-a-Bike program.

 

  • Toledo Community Service Center dba Family House – a grant of $30,000 was awarded to support emergency shelter services for homeless families.

 

  • Toledo Opera Association – a grant of $5,000 was awarded to support the Opera on Wheels program.

 

  • Toledo Orchestra Association, Inc. – a grant of $20,000 was awarded to support the Community Music Lessons Program.

 

  • University of Toledo Foundation – a grant of $5,000 was awarded to support the Great Lakes Regional Center of Adults and Children Together (ACT) Raising Safe Kids Program.

 

The Oswald Supporting Organization was created by the late Joan and Chuck Oswald in 2000 to support projects in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan that enable families to develop skills to nuture each other and to promote the advancement, self-sufficiency and intellectual, social, emotional and cultural growth of woman and children.

 

Toledo Community Foundation, Inc. is a public charitable organization created by citizens of our community to enrich the quality of life for individuals and families in our area.  In existence since 1973, the Foundation has more than 650 funds with assets of approximately $200 million.  The Foundation provides philanthropic services for individuals, families, businesses and corporations to meet their charitable giving needs.
