Michigan’s February unemployment rates by region

April 3, 2014 (AP): Michigan’s major labor market areas, their seasonally unadjusted jobless rates for February, followed by January:

   • Michigan, 8.5 percent, compared with 8.1 percent.
   • Ann Arbor, 5.3 percent, compared with 5 percent.
   • Battle Creek, 7.3 percent, compared with 6.8 percent.
   • Bay City, 9.4 percent, compared with 9 percent.
   • Detroit-Warren-Livonia, 9 percent, compared with 8.5 percent.
   • Flint, 9.4 percent, compared with 9.7 percent.
   • Grand Rapids-Wyoming, 6.2 percent, compared with 5.8 percent.
   • Holland-Grand Haven, 6.2 percent, compared with 5.7 percent.
   • Jackson, 8.5 percent, compared with 8 percent.
   • Kalamazoo-Portage, 7.3 percent, compared with 6.8 percent.
   • Lansing-East Lansing, 6.6 percent, compared with 6.1 percent.
   • Monroe, 7.6 percent, compared with 7.9 percent.
   • Muskegon-Norton Shores, 8.3 percent, compared with 7.9 percent.
   • Niles-Benton Harbor, 8.8 percent, compared with 8.2 percent.
   • Saginaw-Saginaw Township North, 8.9 percent, compared with 8.5 percent.
   • Upper Peninsula, 10.6 percent, compared with 9.7 percent.
   • Northeast Lower Michigan, 14.1 percent, compared with 13.2 percent.
   • Northwest Lower Michigan, 10.8 percent, compared with 10.1 percent.
