The Detroit Children’s Museum launches DPS Family Saturdays with an exciting “March is Reading” month theme

On Saturday, March 29m 2014 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Detroit Public Schools and the Detroit Children’s Museum launched DPS Family Saturdays. 

DPS students ages 4-10 and their families attended a free event to explore the Detroit Children’s Museum gallery; view planetarium shows; win free prizes and more!

In honor of March is Reading Month, the theme for this month’s DPS Family Day was “Dr. Seuss and Eric Carle.” A different theme will be held monthly at the museum, located at 6134 Second Avenue.

Upcoming DPS Family Saturdays and their themes will be:
_Saturday, April 26; Theme: Bugs, Bugs, and more Bugs.
_Saturday, May 10; Theme: Family Gardening.
_Saturday, June 28; Theme: Independence Days from Around the World.
_Saturday, July 26; Theme: The Dog Days of Summer.

All of these events and activities are free and available only to DPS families. Children must be chaperoned by an adult.  Call 313-873-8100 for more details.
