Celebrate National Poetry Month with the Lorain Public Library System

The Main Library is having their third annual Poetry Slam and Open Mic Readings on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 7 p.m.  Perform an original work or favorite poem for the open mic session. You can also put your skills to the test in the more competitive poetry slam.

A poetry slam is a competition where poets recite poetry and are judged. At the Main Library’s poetry slam, each poet will have three minutes and 10 seconds to perform.  The best from each round will make it to the finals.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three poets. Audience members will be selected to help judge the poetry slam.
