Teddy Bear Care Fair at the Zoo

On Saturday, March 22, 2014, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Toledo Zoo celebrates animal care in all its forms at the Teddy Bear Care Fair. Bring your favorite teddy bear or other stuffed buddy to Nature’s Neighborhood, the Zoo’s award-winning children’s zoo, for a check-up, or even minor repairs, from one of the Zoo’s own teddy bear care specialists.

Teddy bear check-ups are just the start of the day’s fun. Animal demonstrations, keeper talks and more complete your visit. You’ll be able to talk with the people who care for the Zoo’s animals and learn just how they provide the first-rate care that makes the Zoo such a great place for animals.

If you’re ready to take home a real live pet, Planned Pethood, with an adoption station set up for the day in the Zoo’s Museum of Science, will help you find just the right cat or dog. Visit toledozoo.org/teddybear for more information, including a complete schedule of events throughout the day.

This is also a great time to check out the new Flying Reptiles exhibit at the Zoo’s historic Reptile House. You’ll see flying lizards, snakes and more, including a life-size replica of Quetzalcoatlus northropi, a pterosaur which stood as tall as a giraffe and had a wingspan of 35 feet.

Both the Teddy Bear Care Fair and Flying Reptiles exhibit are free with regular Zoo admission. Learn more at toledozoo.org.
