Dan Ramos files for re-election to the Ohio House of Representatives
LORAIN, Feb. 5, 2014: State Rep. Dan Ramos (D-Lorain) filed petitions at the Lorain County Board of Elections to run for reelection to the Ohio House of Representatives 56th District.
“It has been an honor to serve our community in the Ohio House of Representatives,” Ramos said. “If reelected, I will continue to work to create good jobs in our community, improve education and public safety, while always putting the people of Lorain County first. I intend to keep fighting for the Middle Class, working people, students, seniors, and the poor to make our community and our state a better place for all.”

Representative Ramos was first elected in 2010. Since taking office, Ramos has worked on a diverse range of issues including improving education, increasing access to healthcare, increasing access and affordability of higher education, and preserving the right to organize and collectively bargain. He has also started an electronic newsletter to keep constituents in the know about what is happening in the Statehouse.
He became the first person of Latino descent to serve in a Leadership role in the General Assembly after being elected to the position as Assistant Minority Whip. The 56th District includes the cities of Lorain, Amherst, Oberlin, Sheffield Lake, Kipton, South Amherst, the townships of Amherst, Brighton, Brownhelm, Camden, Henrietta, New Russia, Pittsfield, and Sheffield, and the Lorain County portion of the City of Vermilion.
