Read to Your Baby: Lorain Public Library System Photo Contest promotes early literacy

According to the Lorain Public Library, studies show that a child’s journey to become a reader begins at birth. “The best way to help your baby gain the skills they need to read is to share lots of books with them—and the Lorain Public Library System (LPLS) can help!

“Enter LPLS’ Read to Your Baby Photo Contest for a chance to win a READ poster shoot for your family. Fill out an entry form by Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 and return it to any LPLS location for a chance at making your little cutie a Browser® Baby.

“A big, lovable dog, Browser® is LPLS’ friendly mascot.  He’s all about reading, of course, because he knows how important it is.”

Entry forms are available at all LPLS libraries and online at LorainPublicLibrary.org.  More details are also available online. READ posters will be displayed in LPLS libraries promoting the value of reading to babies.

For more information, call any LPLS library or the Library System’s toll free number, 1-800-322-READ.
