Collins Cares Celebration postponed:
The Special Events Committee of the Transition Team for City of Toledo Mayor D. Michael Collins has announced that it has postponed the “Collins Cares Celebration,” which was scheduled for evening of Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the SeaGate Convention Centre at 401 Jefferson Ave. in Downtown Toledo.
The tragic loss of two members of Toledo Fire and Rescue on Sunday, January 26th requires the event be rescheduled. The new date will be determined next week. For those who have questions, you are asked to call 419-691-5058.

The event is open to the public.
“The Transition Team is hosting this event to honor Mayor D. Michael Collins as he begins his term as our new mayor. He has continually demonstrated his concern and care for the citizens of the City of Toledo—his service as a U.S. Marine, Toledo Police Officer, and a conscientious councilmember makes him worthy of our support,” said Ms. Betty Shultz, Honorary Chair of the Transition Team.
The “Collins Cares Celebration” will feature a V-I-P Reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. A cash bar and cocktail hour begins at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m., with entertainment following.
Those attending will have a dinner menu choice of Chicken Fontina, Lake Erie Walleye, or Stuffed Portabella Mushroom.
The cost for the event is $100 per person. Tables of eight are available for $750. The V-I-P Reception is $1,000 per couple and includes the remainder of the evening’s program.
