SPECIAL EVENTS: Celebrate Avon’s Bicentennial at the Avon Branch Library
The city of Avon is celebrating a milestone. 2014 marks the city’s 200th anniversary. In honor of Avon’s bicentennial, Lorain Public Library System’s Avon Branch is hosting a Bicentennial Local History Series this winter.
Explore Avon’s ancient history, its early people and artifacts on Jan. 21, 2014. Travel back to 1814 when Avon was first settled and learn about the daily life on Feb. 11. Discover the people who helped Avon become the thriving city it is today on March 18.
