UT recognizes Latino grads

According to Associate Director Mérida E. Allen of the University of Toledo Office of Excellence and Multicultural Student Success (OEMSS), the following University of Toledo Latino students were recognized on December 13, 2013 in ceremonies at UT’s Student Union Auditorium:

Kevon H. Campbell (Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice; College of Social Justice and Human Science);

Claudia Cortez (Marketing and Professional Sales; College of Business and Innovation);

Juan Dominguez Jr. (Bachelor’s; Criminal Justice);

Teresa M Fondessy (Bachelor of Liberal Studies with a focus in Business and Human Development; Adult and Lifelong Learning);
 

María Cristina Galindo (Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish; College of Languages‚ Literature‚ and Social Science);

Christian Geisel-Ortiz (Bachelor of Business Administration; College of Business);

John Mendez Jr. (Criminal Justice; Health and Human Services);

Stephen N. Miller (Business Administration; College of Business and Innovation);

Melanie Annette Muñoz (Bachelor of Arts; Political Science & Public Administration/ and Communications);

Kasha Kameé Thomas (Bachelor of Arts; Communications); College of Social Justice and Human Science); and

Eduardo E. Díaz Trejo (Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering; Engineering).

The premier Latino Graduation Recognition program of OEMSS was entertained by the folkloric dance group El Corazón de México and the UT Latin Jazz Ensemble, with remarks by Dr. Kaye Patten Wallace (senior vice president, The Student Experience), with keynote speaker Margarita De León (regional director of The Kaleidoscope Group, Inc.), with reflections by Alvin Odems (UT junior, Communications), with awards presentation by Jacob Torres (president, LSU) and María Suárez (treasurer, South American Student Association), and with closing remarks by David Young (director, OEMSS).  

The event was free and open to the public.
