In partnership with Braxton Educational and Technology Consulting and Cleveland State University’s America Reads tutoring services, Cleveland Public Library (CPL) is offering FREE tutoring for students K-8 throughout 12 branches.
“CPL serves a vital role in providing students across Cleveland access to free tutoring in their neighborhoods”, said Felton Thomas, CPL director. “By working with our community partners, we can provide students with a safe place to learn and provide extra help in the subjects in which they may be struggling. With support from the Cleveland Foodbank, children can come to the library after school, get a healthy snack, and work one-on-one with a tutor.”
The free tutoring focuses on improving reading skills for students in grades K-3 and is aligned with the Ohio Department of Education’s Third Grade Reading Guarantee. The tutoring sessions are available Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the following branches: Addison, Garden Valley, Walz, and Woodland.
