December 13, 2013: Toledo Express Airport saw its eighth month of increased passenger traffic this year during the month of November. Port Authority reports for November 2013 show that overall passenger traffic at TOL was up 34 percent over the same time-frame in 2012. A total of 13,512 passengers made the choice to fly through TOL last month, also bringing the year to date traffic up eight percent over this time last year.
“The combination of competitively-priced airfares and the easy-to-use facility make Toledo Express an ideal choice for northwest Ohio travelers,” said Paul Toth, President and CEO of the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority. “Hub connectivity to Chicago via American Eagle gives passengers the opportunity to connect anywhere in the world from TOL, and Allegiant’s flights to Florida provide area residents access to low-cost vacation destinations.”
All carriers at Toledo Express Airport showed increased passenger traffic for the month of November; Allegiant carried 6,935 total passengers in November, an 81.07 percent increase over the same month in 2012 and American Airlines, whose passenger totals were up 4.88 percent in November, carried 6,399 passengers from TOL through Chicago with connections to over 100 cities worldwide.
This month’s growth has Toledo Express Airport trending to finish off 2013 with a successful year-over-year increase in passenger traffic, which will be the first time the airport has seen an increase since 2004.
