COMPUTERS FOR BEGINNERS: Sign up for a basic computer course at Lorain Public Library System’s Main Library. Computers for Beginners is Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 at 6 p.m. for those with little to no computer experience. Participants will learn to use a mouse and identify computer parts, and receive an introduction to the Windows operating system. This class includes an opportunity to receive a Certificate of Completion mouse skills certificate. DRAMA CLUB PERFORMANCE: Mark your calendars for Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. The Lorain Public Library’s very own Teen Drama Club will present a dramatic performance to the reading of “The Polar Express.” Climb aboard and be taken on an imaginative trip to the North Pole. HOBBIT CELEBRATION: Lorain Public Library System’s Main Library is celebrating the upcoming release of the newest Hobbit film. Hobbit and Lord of the Rings fans of all ages, join in the fun on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m. Come in costume and meet other characters. There will be crafts and activities for all to enjoy. Learn Internet basics at Lorain Public Library System’s Main Library on Friday, Dec. 6 at 3:30 p.m. In addition to learning how to visit websites and use search engines, the class will be shown resources available through the library’s website. Participants must be comfortable using a mouse to attend. Come to Word for Beginners on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 2:30 p.m. Participants will learn the basics of typing and saving documents using the 2007 edition of Microsoft Word. Learn ways to format and print documents, and copy and paste techniques. Participants need to be comfortable using a mouse to attend this class.
