Pricing for dog tags has not changed. A one year tag is $25.00 and a 3 year tag is $75.00. Additionally, citizens may also purchase a permanent tag that is good for the life of the dog, for $250.00. It is important to note however, 3 year and permanent tags must be purchased directly from the Lucas County Auditor’s Office or Lucas County Canine Care and Control (formerly known as the Lucas County Dog Warden). 1 year tags may be purchased from these County entities as well as participating area vendors around Toledo and online on the Auditor’s website.

Additionally, the website includes an online renewal system for anyone wishing to renew their license from their own PC. The online system cannot process 2014 licenses until December 1, 2013.
The deadline for obtaining a dog license is January 31, 2014. Dog owners who fail to license their dog(s) by the January 31 deadline will be charged a penalty of $25.00 per license.
