DEARBORN, Nov. 7, 2013 (AP): The Arab American National Museum and University of Michigan are jointly presenting an exhibit and symposium related to the recent and ongoing Middle East uprisings.

The Dearborn museum on Friday will debut a multimedia companion exhibition to the Ann Arbor university's symposium entitled ``Creative Dissent: Arts of the Arab World Uprisings.''

The exhibition of the same name runs through Feb. 9, 2014. The collected photos, cartoons, video and audio samples correspond with the Nov. 14-15 gathering of writers, bloggers, photographers, cartoonists and scholars and others at the university.

The museum is holding an opening reception and panel discussion on Nov. 16. Activists and artists plan to share personal stories and the role of freedom of expression before, during and after the upheavals.
