“One.for.Ten” is an online series of films that visually documents the stories of several individuals throughout the country who were exonerated from death row since the death penalty was reinstated in 1976. Each film is narrated and introduced by well-known artists such as Danny Glover, Jeremy Irons, and Lily Tomlin.
The film title stands for the statistic that one in ten people on death row have been found to be wrongfully convicted.
The tour will feature three guest speakers from the films: Joe D’Ambrosio, Delbert Tibbs, and Damon Thibodeaux. The men served time on death row in Ohio, Florida, and Louisiana but were exonerated.
Northwest Ohio times and locations for the tour are:
• Monday, Oct. 21, at 11:30 a.m. in meeting rooms A and B at the Franciscan Center at Lourdes University, 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania.
•Monday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. at First Unitarian Church, 3205 Glendale Ave., Toledo.

In Ohio, capital punishment is under review by the Joint Task Force to Review the Administration of Ohio’s Death Penalty, convened by the Ohio Supreme Court and the Ohio Bar Association.
“If people haven’t decided where they stand on the death penalty issue or if they want to become more aware of how this process is implemented they should attend this event,” says Ms. Germaine Kirk, social ministry program coordinator for Catholic Charities.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information about the “One.for.Ten” death penalty tour, tour dates and other Ohio tour locations, contact Germaine Kirk at 419-244-6711, ext. 225.
