DPS to kick off weekly online auctions of surplus kitchen equipment, metal shop equipment, safes, vending machines and other obsolete supplies
Beginning Thursday, October 17, 2013, Detroit Public Schools will kick off weekly online auctions of excess items, such as surplus or obsolete kitchen equipment, outdated metal shop equipment, safes, and vending machines. The online auction program will minimize handling and warehousing costs as well as provide DPS proceeds from the sale of the contents.
Items from the upcoming auctions include: surplus and/or obsolete multimedia equipment, athletic equipment, sporting goods, pianos, automotive technology, vehicles, furniture, y más!
This program is a result of findings by a Purchasing and Logistics Strategic Category Team (SCT) focused on inventory management.
About the first auction:
PHASE 1 - Surplus and/or Obsolete Kitchen Equipment & Supplies
Date: Thursday, October 17 from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Preview: Wednesday, October 16 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Pickup: Friday, October 18 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Location: 1425 E. Warren Avenue, Detroit, MI
PRE-AUCTION INSPECTION
Inspection(s) – Individuals will have the opportunity to inspect items the day prior to each auction. Individuals who would like to participate in the auction but don’t have access to a computer can call Biddergy.com’s office at (866) 260-1611 and make alternate arrangements.
POST-AUCTION PICKUP
High bidders are to make payments and remove items the following day after each auction from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
