WGTE hosts FREE Educator Workshop
As part of its year-long Preventing Bullying = Creating Safety initiative, WGTE Public Media will host teachers, school administrators, counselors, and other education professionals at a free workshop on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at WGTE, 1270 South Detroit Avenue in Toledo.

The workshop will focus on identifying and responding to bullying behavior. Young people experience bullying in school, but also while involved in extracurricular activities and through social media and other avenues of cyberbullying. How can the adults identify when bullying occurs, and act appropriately? How can organizations and classrooms meet governmental mandates and best practices to have anti-bullying policies in place?
Presenters: Sheri Tripepi, University of Toledo lecturer with a focus on social work and anti-violence, and Rob Salem, University of Toledo Clinical Professor, College of Law.
All individuals in the field of education are eligible and invited to register to attend, including administrators, teachers, counselors, psychologists, law enforcement and school support staff including, but not limited to: nurses, bus drivers, recess monitors, food service, custodial, cafeteria. Individuals involved in student mentoring and non-profit youth organizations.
