Josh Flores is recipient of the 20 Under 40 Leadership Award

Toledo: Josh Flores—Educator, Toledo Public Schools and a graduate of the University of Toledo—was a recipient of a 2013 20 Under 40 Leadership Recognition Award presented Thursday, September 26, 2013, at the annual 20 Under 40 awards ceremony.  He was selected from a field of 109 candidates.

When reached by La Prensa, Flores stated: “Education can be both the most rewarding and thankless of professions and it feels tremendous to represent my fellow educators and Toledo Public Schools in a positive manner.

“I am humbled to receive this award and be recognized for my dedication to the youth and this community. I want to congratulate my Fraternity Brother Carlos Ruiz for also being nominated. He is a dynamic young leader and will undoubtedly be a future award recipient.

“I would also like to extend my gratitude to Mark Urrutia for nominating me.

“I want to express my eternal thanks to my loving and supportive family, friends, and girlfriend, who have raised and supported me in my life endeavors.

This 18th annual event showcased young, dynamic leaders in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan under the age of 40. An independent panel of judges selected 20 candidates for recognition.

The 20 Under 40 program focuses on individuals under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their careers and/or in the community. It is intended that the program will further motivate young leaders in our area. Since 1996, 360 young, community leaders have been recognized through the 20 Under 40 program.
