Grandparents Day and Day of Honor at Toledo Zoo

September 8 is Grandparents Day. To recognize these grandest of parents, the Toledo Zoo gives free admission to grandparents – as long as they are accompanied by at least one adorable grandchild. Fun activities in Nature’s Neighborhood, the award-winning children’s zoo, round out the celebrations, and these activities are free with regular Zoo admission.

September 8 is also Day of Honor, with the Zoo showing appreciation to those who keep us safe. All military personnel, police officers, firefighters and EMTs get free Zoo admission on this day, when they show their badge or professional ID.

But this is just the start – sign some giant thank-you cards for your community’s First Responders, and check out some cool vehicles, too! PNC’s mobile learning unit will be on grounds, welcoming children to “try out” occupational costumes and have a photo taken in their new look.
