DPS has immediate openings for School Services Assistants for expanded Pre-K programs
August 28, 2013: Detroit Public Schools has position openings for School Service Assistants in conjunction with its expanded prekindergarten classrooms across the district. Among the first initiatives to be implemented from the district’s 2013-2017 Strategic Plan, “Neighborhood-Centered, Quality Schools,” Detroit Public Schools in July announced a broad strategy to vastly increase preschool offerings for eligible students.
The DPS Universal Pre-K Program is in the process of adding 25 new early learning classrooms to 14 sites geographically spread across the city, including 12 classrooms in five new DPS Early Learning Neighborhood Centers. DPS will operate 215 Pre-K classrooms at 70 schools with a capacity for 3,530 young learners this school year.

Successful candidates will be eligible for medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage, as well as illness and vacation days. Further information is available by contacting the DPS Division of Human Resources, 10th floor Fisher Building, 3011 W. Grand Blvd., (313) 873-7101.
