WNZN 89.1 FM will emcee this event and broadcast live from the Museum. The Latino Heritage Festival is gratis, however paid admission is necessary to tour the Rock Hall exhibits.
The Museum’s community festivals offers opportunities for the Midwest’s diverse ethnic communities to become more acquainted with the Rock Hall and the range of music styles and cultures it celebrates.
The Latino Heritage Festival is a kick-off to Hispanic/Latino Heritage month, celebrated September 15 - October 15. The festival will feature an array of musical talent that will highlight Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees of Latino descent, including: Carlos Santana, Jerry García, and Ritchie Valens, and provide the soundtrack to an afternoon of lively entertainment:
· Micka Nova & Gozadera are a Latin fused band from Cleveland, performing at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum’s Latino Heritage Festival for the first time.
· Founded in 2009 in Lorain, Ohio, the Latin Jazz Players got their start playing in a local church together. The group performs smooth Latin jazz music, influenced by the likes of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Carlos Santana as well as Peter White, Marc Antoine and Jeff Lorber.
· The awe inspiring moves of City Breaks Crew with Urbana Entertainment bring together many of the area’s most talented musicians and artists including DJ Ely, Blazin’ El Unico, Alco, D’Son, La Voces De La Calle, Evolution and many more.
· La Cosecha Galeria, translated to mean “the Harvest Gallery,” opened in 2002 as the first Latino-owned and managed art gallery in the greater Cleveland area. Since its inception, the gallery has showcased a long list of local artists, including former Cleveland Indians player Omar Vizquel, bringing his talent back to the city of Cleveland. More recently, La Cosecha Galeria has established itself as the premier event manager, promoter, art designer of the largest events held in the Latino community during the last few years in Ohio. They will present a one of a kind arts installation at Latino Heritage Festival at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
