Emanuel H. Enríquez: Pulling Up Stakes ,…in pursuit of new opportunities

August 16, 2013: A series of oil paintings from Bowling Green, Ohio artist Emanuel H. Enríquez is on display at the Wood County Historical Center & Museum; the exhibit is in conjunction with the Smithsonian traveling exhibit “Journey Stories,” on display now through Sept. 15, 2013, the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The paintings are from Sr. Enríquez’s Migration Series, a five-piece set depicting mexicanos migrating to the United States in the first half of the 20th Century. Many of the gente in the paintings are his family members.
