Torero, BGSU, others continues South-end Murals
In the photo is artist Mario Torero from San Diego, California, conducting for another year the Toledo Mural Project, on the south wall of Adelante, Inc., at 520 South Broadway, Toledo. Together, under the direction of BGSU Art Faculty Member, Gordon Ricketts, Sr. Torero is leading a group of BGSU art students in the project.
The 2013 project spotlights Adelante, Inc. and the Green Lantern on Broadway, The Danny Thomas Park, and the East Broadway viaduct, among other venues. The mural was designed by Torero and lead artists include Chad Watt and Greg Lukasik. Painting is being completed by BGSU students and community members. Painting will continue through June 8, 2013 from 10am to 4pm.
According to its press release, “Adelante, Inc. has been serving and empowering individuals and families in Northwest Ohio through education, promotion, economic literacy, health and other social services since 1998.
