West Side Story takes center stage at French Creek Nature & Arts Center
SHEFFIELD VILLAGE: Lorain County Metro Parks, in conjunction with The Morning Journal and WOBL, proudly present the TrueNorth Cultural Arts production of West Side Story, April 19, 2013 through May 12 at French Creek Nature & Arts Center.
The world’s greatest love story takes to the streets with local talent. The roles of the two young lovers Chino, played by Alex Craig and Rosalia played by Annette Fernández are both residents of Elyria. The two are caught between warring street gangs, the “American” Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks, their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most - heart-wrenching dramas of our time. Local talent make up several of the gang members and include:

West Side Story features songs “Tonight”, “I Feel Pretty” and “Cool” as well a challenging musical score written by Leonard Bernstein. Based on the book by Arthur Laurents and directed by Fred Sternfeld.
Show times are Friday and Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. Advance tickets for the performance are $16 for the center section and $14 for the side
seats. Tickets may be purchased the day of the show for $16 and $18. Children 18 and under are $10.
