“The Mini-Maker Faire is symbolic of the history of our region and spirit of entrepreneurship in Cleveland today,” said Felton Thomas, Director of CPL. “This event will be an opportunity for people of all ages and interests to stretch their imaginations, try something new, and be inspired by the creativity and innovation demonstrated by makers of all kinds.”
The Maker Movement, made up of creators, inventors, crafters, and techies, strives to inspire, unite, and inform while celebrating the “Do-It-Yourself” (DIY) community. Maker Faires are a celebration of the innovation and resourcefulness of the ever-growing Maker Movement. While Maker Faires have been held in Detroit, San Francisco, and New York, the Ingenuity Mini Maker Faire will be the first of its kind in Cleveland.
CMMF builds on Cleveland’s rich culture and history of innovation, invention, creativity, and making things. CMMF will convene educators, hobbyists, engineers, artists, students, authors, crafters, and tinkerers alike to showcase their inventions, innovation, and ideas. People of all ages will have the opportunity to learn, discover, create, and play along with “makers” and creators from the region’s business, non-profit, and educational sectors.
