Herzing University-Toledo and TPS Latino Career Day

On Friday, March 1, 2013, Herzing University-Toledo hosted this year’s Latino Career Day in conjunction with Toledo Public Schools (TPS). According to TPS’s José Luna, approximately 60 TPS high school students from Start, Woodward, and Bowsher participated and were exposed to a variety of careers through presentations delivered by local Latino professionals such as GM’s José Limón, Lucas County Auditor Anita López, and Capt. David Rodríguez of the Toledo Fire Dept.

“While we reach out to all segments of the Northwest Ohio community, this is a special opportunity to directly reach an underserved population of students,” said Herzing University-

Toledo campus president Greg Guzmán, a Toledo native. “The sooner and more often we expose kids to potential careers, the bigger the impact we can have on their futures.”
