CAC invites residents to vote for arts and culture project

CLEVELAND, January 24, 2013: Cuyahoga Arts & Culture (CAC) has announced that beginning February 1, 2013, it will invite Cuyahoga County residents to help decide which two large-scale arts or culture projects will receive up to $150,000 each through its new Creative Culture Grants program. The six projects on which residents will vote are included below.

“We launched this program to both bring new, creative projects to our community and to let our community have a say in which projects would receive public funds,” said Karen Gahl-Mills, Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s executive director. “The six finalist projects embody the great creativity of our region’s arts and culture organizations and artists, and we encourage all County residents to get involved in the public vote, which begins on February 1.”

Arts and culture organizations based in Cuyahoga County proposed many creative and diverse projects that have been narrowed down to the top six by an independent panel of arts and culture experts. The public vote will help decide which two projects will be funded.

Residents in Cuyahoga County will be able to vote on which projects they want to see happen in our community beginning February 1. In order to be eligible to vote, individuals must be of at least 13 years of age and reside in Cuyahoga County. Residents will be able to vote in two ways:

• Online until February 20 at 11:59 p.m. EST. The link to the online voting site will go live athttp://www.cacgrants.org/voteon February 1.
