Zoo offers free Christmas Eve admission for Lucas County residents
The presents are wrapped and the house is decorated, but one more tradition awaits: Christmas Eve Day at your Toledo Zoo. In appreciation for Lucas County voters’ levy support, Lucas County residents receive free Zoo admission Zoo on Monday, December 24, 2012. ID showing proof of residency is required; on December 24, the Zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
At the Zoo, you’ll see amazing animals, enjoy the Zoo’s famous hot chocolate and maybe even finish up that last-minute shopping. Christmas Eve at the Zoo is a great way to wind down from the hectic holiday rush (please note that the Lights Before Christmas,presented by KeyBank, is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).
The Zoo is Santa’s headquarters through Sunday, December 23, but even after Santa returns to the North Pole, theLights shine through December 31. When you visit, check out Winter Playland, sponsored by Taylor Automotive Family. Ride a giant rocking horse, step into a bigger-than-life snowglobe or take a wild slide down Snowzilla.
The Lights Before Christmas runs through December 31, starting at 3pm daily; closing hours vary. For more information, please visit toledozoo.org or call 419.385.4040. Lucas County residents are admitted free of charge each Monday from 10 a.m. to noon. ID showing proof of residency is required.
On December 31, ring in 2013 at Noon Year’s Eve, the Zoo’s family-friendly celebration, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Start your new year right with the Zoo’s Winter Weekends, January 5 through February 24.
