34th Annual Holiday Choral Concert at LCCC’s Stocker Arts Center
Lorain County Community College’s Civic Chorale, Collegiate Chorale, Renaissance Singers and Civic Orchestra will present the 34th Annual Holiday Choral Concert at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2012, in Stocker Arts Center.
More than 150 performers representing LCCC students and community musicians from 16 different communities will perform under the direction of conductor and Director of Choral Music Performance, Nancy L. Davis.
The concert will feature Rutter’s “Gloria” performed by the Civic Chorale with organ, brass, and percussion. Familiar holiday favorites will include: “The First Noel,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” and “Joy to the World.” Selections from Handel’s “Messiah,” including the ever-popular “Hallelujah” chorus, will be performed by the Collegiate Chorale, Civic Chorale, and the Civic Orchestra.
A special feature of the concert will be the Renaissance Singers, who will appear in period costumes and perform 16th and 17th century a cappella madrigals and motets. Solid Brass, an all-brass ensemble, will delight the audience during the intermission with festive holiday music in the Stocker Arts Center lobby.
Tickets for the concert are $8 each. Tickets are available from the Stocker Arts Center box office, which is open weekdays from 12-6 p.m., or by calling (440) 366-4040. Tickets are also available online at www.lorainccc.edu/stocker.
