The public is invited to the 1st Annual Black River Art Walk hosted by the Lorain Arts Council on September 29, 2012, from 4 to 10 PM. The mural wall of the LAC building at 737 Broadway in Lorain will be the backdrop for the event.
This free event will feature artwork from Lorain Arts Council members and Northeast Ohio artists. On-sight artists will be demonstrating glass-painting, whittling and stone sculpting plus there will be face painting and crafts for the children. Let the opening sounds of doo-wop singers, The Smooth Groove, guide you to the art center where six hours of entertainment will include DJ RoRo, Pepe Rivera’s band Friends of Mine, guitarists Side Effect and pop singer Sean Gabriel.
The evening will end with the salsa sounds of the Sammy De León y su Orchestra. Tom Adams, performance poet, will command the stage for Open Mic and encourage other poets to join him.
In celebration of “Hispanic Heritage Month” the inside gallery will feature Latino-based art and a model casting for the Miss Lorain Latina and Miss Ohio Latina pageants. For further information contact Antonio Barrios @ 440-320-0295.
Rain date is October 6th.
