Find your academic path with help from LCCC
For those who want to earn a college degree but are unsure of what to study, Lorain County Community College offers a variety of free services to help students find their best path to a rewarding career.
Fall semester courses are enrolling now. Courses begin on or after Monday, August 27, 2012. Courses are offered in full semester, 10-week, 8-week or 5-week sessions.
With more than 110 degree and certificate programs available, the academic advisers and counselors at LCCC can help a tailor an education plan to meet most any career goal. Degree areas include business, computer and information technology, engineering and manufacturing, health care and nursing, science and mathematics, communications and more.
To help students sort through the choices, LCCC offers MyPlan, an online career planning resource that assesses a student’s interest in a variety of fields. To check out MyPlan, visit www.lorainccc.edu/myplan.
Individual academic advising sessions are also available by appointment with your academic counselor or on a walk-in basis with an academic advisor. Academic advisors and academic counselors are available in Enrollment Services, located in the Bass Library.
Academic advisors meet with prospective, new and returning students. Walk-in advising hours are 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday. To schedule an appointment with an Academic Counselor, call (440) 366-4033.
Students may attend a free orientation session to learn more about the services and opportunities available at LCCC. Students will learn about support services, such as tutoring, academic advising, counseling and career services. The orientation also includes a tour of campus.
