Where Do Your Congressional Candidates Stand?
Candidate Forum for 13th and 14th Congressional Districts in Detroit
What: An open forum where congressional candidates in the 13th and 14th districts in Detroit will be answering the tough questions on where they stand on issues that directly affect our communities. Find out their positions on housing, economic policy, immigration, and the DREAM act. There will be an open Question & Answer session for community members to address their candidates directly on issues that affect their lives.
Who: John Conyers, Gary Peters, Hansen Clarke, Brenda Lawrence, Bert Johnson and Glen Anderson have been invited to attend. The event is hosted by the Alliance for Immigrants Rights, ACCESS, Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation, Society of Hispanic Business Owners and Professionals, International Institute, Mothering Justice

The 2012 election is an important election for the Detroit-area, with new districts changing who will represent us in Congress. With two incumbents, and several new candidates, there are bound to be questions about how new candidates plan to address ongoing problems in our communities. This is a chance for the people of the 13th and 14th districts (which include Southwest Detroit) to hear their candidates and future representatives discuss issues in a non-partisan environment.
The forum is free and open to the public. Translation will be available for Spanish-speakers.
