Main Library accepts Passport applications

When you are taking a trip out of the country, your first stop can be Main Library! Go no farther than the Main Library to fill out your passport application. The service will start July 9, 2012. The downtown Library is approved by the U.S. State Department to operate a Passport Application Acceptance Agency. Citizens planning to travel abroad may visit Main Library and apply for their passport until one hour before closing Monday through Saturday. Along with the passport fee, there is a $25 processing fee. Passport photo service will also be available for $10.

“We are pleased to offer this service to the community,” says Cathy Bartel, Circulation Manager at Main Library. “We think we can offer the service with hours that are additional to others in our area. This service also complements travel resources the Library offers.”
