ReStart your career at LCCC
Unemployed and underemployed adults may revive their careers with the new Career ReStart program at Lorain County Community College. The Career ReStart program packages a wide range of career development, education and employment services to help start a new career or advance in an existing field. The program is the result of a partnership between LCCC and the State of Ohio.
Program orientations will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2012, or from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, June 5 in the Entrepreneurship Innovation Center on the LCCC campus. The orientations are free. The program combines short-term training courses with job search strategies, networking skills, career advising and employment placement assistance.
Available short-term training programs include:
Customer Service – 8 Week Program (Full Time)
The Customer Service short-term training program will provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed in order to provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
Project Management – 8 Week Program (Part Time)
This program will introduce participants to the fundamental concepts, terminology and processes of effective project management.
Information Technology IT Fast Track – 9 Month Program
IT Support Certification Level 1 (Full Time)
Train to become an IT Support Specialist, Network Technician or Help Desk Representative. Computer support specialists provide technical assistance, support and advice to customers and other users.
State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) – 5 Week Program (Full Time)
The State Tested Nursing Assistant program trains individuals to work in a medical environment providing basic nursing care such as dressing, feeding, bathing and observing patients. STNA’s are generally employed in long-term care facilities but also at hospitals, assisted living, hospice care, home health care and private duty.
Career ReStart programs are offered through a bundled schedule that allows students to work or manage childcare options while enrolled. A high school diploma or GED is required to participate and financial aid is available to those who qualify.
