Warm Weather Brings Wild Wonder to the Toledo Zoo

The Toledo Zoo offers great reasons to be your family’s springtime destination. Visit toledozoo.org for more information about these and other upcoming events.

Sat. & Sun. Weekend hours start 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Starting May 5, the Zoo’s weekend hours will be from 10 a.m. to (last admission) 5 p.m.

Sun. May 6 Cinco de Mayo Celebration 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Celebrate the music and fun of Mexican culture at the region’s premier family-friendly Cinco de Mayo destination.

Sun. May 13 Mother’s Day Celebration and Brunch 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Moms receive free admission when they come to the Zoo with their children. Plus there’s a Mother’s Day Brunch (separate fee) from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; call 419.385.5721 for prices and to make your reservations today. Meijer is a Major Sponsor of Mother’s Day at the Toledo Zoo.

Sat. May 12 Dart Frog Dash 8:30 a.m. (register 7 a.m.)

Get set and go -- to the Zoo! The eighth annual 5K race/walk and 1K Kids’ Fun Run tracks through and around the Zoo. Pre-registration for the race is strongly encouraged. Presented by Mercy Children’s Hospital; additional support provided by Dave’s Running Shop and McDonald’s.

Fri. May 18 to Sun. May 20 Tembo Trail Grand Opening Weekend 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Our dynamic new elephant facility, Tembo Trail, blends extraordinary elephant care with extraordinary visitor experiences. But Tembo Trail is more than elephants; it’s a whole new look and feel to the area you’ve known as the African Savanna. New additions this year: naked mole rats, spotted-necked otters and dromedary camels. Major Sponsor of Grand Opening Weekend: The Andersons.

Sat. May 19 Around the World in a Day 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The Toledo Zoo is home to animals representing species from across the globe, and this event celebrates the cultures that make the world so exciting. Journey “from snow to sand” and all points in between – all in one day.

Sat. May 26 Summer hours start 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily

Starting May 26, the Zoo will be open daily from 10 a.m. to (last admission) 5 p.m. (last admission).

See your favorite Zoo animals chow down, all summer long! Experience animal-feeding and enrichment demonstrations throughout the Zoo; visit toledozoo.org/feedings for a complete schedule.

The Toledo Zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily (starting May 5, weekend hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). The Zoo is located on the Anthony Wayne Trail (US 25), four miles south of downtown Toledo. Valid ID showing proof of residency is required.
