Volunteers needed for Annual Train Day Toledo

The Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments (TMACOG) is calling for volunteers to help present the very popular annual Train Day Toledo celebration, which will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012, 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Toledo’s Amtrak station near downtown Toledo.

Last year an estimated 5,000 visitors attended Train Day. Volunteers are needed to help with parking, maintenance, and to direct visitors. Even larger crowds are expected this year as Toledo welcomes Amtrak’s 40th Anniversary Exhibit Train. The train is a rolling museum chronicling Amtrak’s four decades as the U.S. coast to coast passenger train system.

To volunteer, call TMACOG at 419.241.9155. Volunteers will work two- to four-hour shifts, and each volunteer gets a 2012 Train Day t-shirt.

The Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments (TMACOG) organizes train day working with the Northwest Ohio Passenger Rail Association (NOPRA) and All Aboard Ohio.  Train Day is made possible through the support of many partners and volunteers.
